Liverpool will continue their pre-season preparations when they face Ligue 1 outfit Monaco on Sunday afternoon.
The Reds have endured a mixed pre-season campaign so far this summer, having followed up wins over Premier League rivals Sunderland and Championship side Wrexham with a disappointing 4-2 defeat against Leeds United in their last outing.
Andoni Iraola’s side were 2-0 up at half-time against the Whites but collapsed in the second half, and the Spaniard will be desperate to see his side get back to winning ways on Sunday.
In the meantime, though, it is emerging that the Merseyside outfit are eyeing an audacious move to sign a Ligue 1 star.
As per CaughtOffside, Liverpool are interested in Paris Saint-Germain forward Ibrahim Mbaye.
The report claims that the Merseyside outfit have identified the Senegal international as a possible target as they look to bolster Iraola’s squad in attack this summer.

Mbaye, 18, is a product of PSG’s youth system and has already played more than 40 times for the club across all competitions, scoring four goals and registering three assists.
The teenager was also part of the Senegal squad that were knocked out of the World Cup at the last 32 stage by Belgium earlier this summer.
It is claimed that Liverpool are stepping up their efforts to land the attacker, who primarily plays on the right but is capable of operating across the front line.
Mbaye’s contract with Champions League holders PSG is set to run until the end of the 2027/28 campaign, but Liverpool are said to have contacted the player’s agent, Jorge Mendes.
The player himself is said to be open to the idea of a move to Liverpool, and the report suggests that there is a level of confidence that a deal can be agreed.
