Sky Germany, the Leipziger Volkszeitung, and Kicker are all now currently reporting that Hoffenheim striker Fisnik Asllani has passed his RB Leipzig medical. Florian Plettenberg claims that the final transfer fee is in the €25m-range. As reported earlier, the 23-year-old will switch Bundesliga outfits via the release clause in his Hoffenheim contract.
The Kosovo international is now expected to join Leipzig’s training camp in Saalfelden and begin working with new head coach Martín Demichelis. Hoffenheim had already omitted Asllani from their own training-camp squad as the transfer moved toward completion.
The forward established himself as one of the Bundesliga’s breakout players last season, scoring 11 goals and registering ten assists.
Asllani is expected to provide competition for Rômulo at centre-forward. It nevertheless remains unclear whether Leipzig will move another striker out of the squad following his arrival. The Saxons are already considered sufficiently stocked in the position and carrying an oversized professional squad of 38 players.
