Egypt’s General Intelligence Service chief, Major General Hassan Rashad, met on Sunday with a Palestinian Authority delegation headed by Hussein Al Sheikh, vice president of the State of Palestine. The delegation included Rawhi Fattouh, speaker of the Palestinian National Council, and Majed Faraj, head of Palestinian intelligence, Egyptian state-affiliated Al-Qahera News reported.
The meeting was held as part of Egypt’s efforts to promote Palestinian unity, the report said.
The discussions addressed developments in the occupied West Bank and upcoming Palestinian electoral commitments, it added.
The participants also agreed to coordinate national efforts to confront challenges facing the Palestinian cause at the current stage, according to the report.
