Monza caused a huge upset in their pre-season friendly, as Ivan Juricโs team beat Galatasaray 2-0 with goals from Andrea Carboni and Patrick Cutrone.
The team was celebrating its promotion into Serie A this summer after winning the play-offs, joining Venezia and Frosinone in the top flight.
They took on Champions of Turkiye Galatasaray this evening on neutral turf in Linz, and earned an unexpected triumph.

Cutrone was the star of the show, as his acrobatic volley on a corner was nodded in from close range by Andrea Carboni.

The former Milan striker then got the second himself, turning in the rebound when Dany Mota Carvalhoโs daisy-cutter had been parried into his path by goalkeeper Guvenc.
Karatas came closest for Galatasaray with an angled drive that skimmed the upright, but Guvenc needed a big save to prevent Carboni completing a brace.
Former Napoli striker Victor Osimhen came off the bench and threatened, but was unable to get his men on the scoresheet.
