Hamza Abdelkarim, the Barcelona star, is preparing to play his first match with the first team during the pre-season preparation camp.
Abdelkarim is currently training with Barcelona under German manager Hansi Flick in the team’s pre-season camp. Barcelona is scheduled to play its first friendly match of the camp on Friday at the sports complex against CE Europa.
Today’s match will offer Abdelkarim a valuable opportunity to showcase his talents and impress the manager, provided Flick gives him the chance to feature on the pitch.
Abdelkarim came through the youth academy of Egyptian giants Al Ahly. In January 2026, he moved to Barcelona Atlètic (FC Barcelona B) on a six-month loan deal. Following impressive performances, Barcelona secured his transfer on a permanent contract running through June 2029.
Before entering Al Ahly’s academy, he took his first steps in youth football in Malaysia, spending 2016 to 2020 with FC Kuala Lumpur and Little League Soccer while residing there as a youngster.
