Netflix has set November 6, 2026 for Under Siege (Palacio), an eight-episode Colombian drama inspired by the Palace of Justice siege in Bogotá on November 6 and 7, 1985. The series recounts the M-19 guerrilla commando’s seizure of the building and the Colombian Army’s subsequent retaking of it, while following families who sought justice for decades afterward.

The historical events behind the drama

According to Netflix’s announcement, the series is based on public events and extensive research involving documents, testimonies and interviews. On November 6, 1985, an M-19 commando entered the Palace of Justice and took more than 300 people hostage, including Supreme Court justices. The building was retaken by the Colombian Army the following day. Netflix’s synopsis says at least 94 people died or disappeared in the siege and retaking, including justices, guerrilla members, civilians and military personnel.

The series is a fictionalized drama inspired by historical events, not a documentary. Because the subject involves real victims, disputed accounts and long-running calls for justice, its dramatized scenes should be distinguished from the historical record and the underlying testimony.

Cast and creative team

The announced cast includes Natalia Reyes, Carlos Manuel Vesga, Robinson Díaz, Luna Baxter, Mariana Gómez, Santiago Alarcón, Nicole Santamaría, Andrés Castañeda and Camilo Amores, among others. Natalia Santa is the showrunner and one of the writers, alongside Enrique Videla, Enrique Lozano, Jenny Ceballos and Estefanía Piñeres. Jayro Bustamante, Edgar Nito and Samir Oliveros are credited as directors. Dynamo produced the series, which was filmed primarily in Bogotá.
