Tori Spelling<\/strong><\/a> opened up about the worst experience she claims she had with a director on the set of 2003\u2019s sci-fi comedy Evil Alien Conqueror<\/em>s.<\/p>\n

\u201cFrom the moment I stepped on set, it was like I couldn\u2019t say one word without the director being like, \u2018Uh, Tori, can you do that again?\u2019\u201d Spelling, 53, recalled on the August 9 episode of Stephen Baldwin<\/strong>\u2019s \u201cOne Bad Movie\u201d<\/a> podcast.<\/p>\n

Spelling makes an uncredited appearance in Evil Alien Conquerors<\/em> opposite comedians Chris Parnell<\/strong> and Diedrich Bader<\/strong> as part of a madcap story about intergalactic invaders sent on a mission to destroy Earth.<\/p>\n

The project was cowritten and directed by Chris Matheson<\/strong>, who previously worked on the 1989 classic comedy Bill & Ted\u2019s Excellent Adventure<\/em> and its 1991 sequel Bill & Ted\u2019s Bogus Journey<\/em>. (He went on to cowrite the 2020 franchise entry Bill & Ted Face the Music<\/em> as well.)<\/p>\n

Looking back on her time filming Evil Alien Conquerors<\/em>, Spelling initially thought that the \u201cbig furry unibrow and furry feet\u201d she wore for the movie would help her shake off the \u201cforever persona being Aaron Spelling<\/strong>\u2019s daughter<\/a>.\u201d (Tori was one of late TV producer Aaron and wife Candy Spelling<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s two children<\/a>, along with brother Randy Spelling<\/strong>.)<\/p>\n

The actress recalled receiving a \u201cstraight offer\u201d for Evil Alien Conquerors<\/em>, meaning she didn\u2019t have to audition for the part, and hoped that the movie would be a \u201cgreat\u201d change of pace from her previous work on Beverly Hills, 90210<\/em><\/a>. (Spelling played Donna Martin on 90210<\/em> from 1990 to 2000.)<\/p>\n

However, Tori told Baldwin, 60, that she clashed with Matheson, 67, right away, as he allegedly asked her to do repeated retakes on many of the scenes she shot and far more frequently than her costars.<\/p>\n

The filmmaker would reportedly ask her to give \u201cjust a little bit less\u201d in her line delivery, which she found odd since they were making a wacky sci-fi comedy.<\/p>\n

\u201cNow, although I was in a drama for 10 seasons and did other work, my comedy was on point, like I was a comedian and am a comedian,\u201d she said. \u201cAnd so, in drama sometimes I was like, \u2018Okay, if I get that note, I understand that,\u2019 but comedy? No one ever gave me a note. It was always like, \u2018Oh my God, that\u2019s great, go for it.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

While Tori always felt she was \u201cgood with direction,\u201d she came to realize that whatever she was giving in her line readings \u201cdidn\u2019t matter.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt could be a scene with me and one other actor or a scene with like 20 of us\u2026 By the end I knew he\u2019d go through the first take, and then he\u2019d be like \u2018Cut!\u2019 And I\u2019m like, \u2018Wait for it,\u2019 and he\u2019d be like, \u2018Tori\u2026\u2019\u201d she said. \u201cEvery time! He would say it out loud across all the other actors and everyone in the room and I\u2019d be shuddering.\u201d<\/p>\n

The tension ultimately got so intense on set that Tori\u2019s agent asked for her to be uncredited in Evil Alien Conquerors<\/em>. Tori finished the project convinced that Matheson \u201chated\u201d her.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was like, \u2018Just fire me and recast. This is so hard on me.\u2019 I went to set every day just like a puddle of \u2026 I don\u2019t know,\u201d she declared. \u201cI watched it. I\u2019m fine in it, but I\u2019m like, \u2018Oh, I wish I had done more with it.\u2019 It was a comedy. It was just like a goofy comedy. He just didn\u2019t like me. And I\u2019m like, \u2018That\u2019s okay.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
