{"id":1979,"date":"2026-08-06T10:01:49","date_gmt":"2026-08-06T10:01:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/valutednews.com\/?p=1979"},"modified":"2026-08-06T10:01:49","modified_gmt":"2026-08-06T10:01:49","slug":"karachi-court-allows-exhumation-of-mir-raza-alis-body-amid-controversy-over-autopsy-pakistan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/valutednews.com\/?p=1979","title":{"rendered":"Karachi court allows exhumation of Mir Raza Ali&#8217;s body amid controversy over autopsy &#8211; Pakistan"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"text-align:center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dawn.com\/large\/2026\/08\/06142005f481758.webp\" class=\"attachment-post-thumbnail size-post-thumbnail wp-post-image\" alt=\"Karachi court allows exhumation of Mir Raza Ali&#8217;s body amid controversy over autopsy &#8211; Pakistan\" title=\"Karachi court allows exhumation of Mir Raza Ali&#8217;s body amid controversy over autopsy &#8211; Pakistan\" \/><\/div><p><\/p>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n<p>KARACHI: A Karachi court on Thursday allowed the exhumation of Institute of Business Administration (IBA) graduate <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dawn.com\/news\/2020224\"><u>Mir Raza Ali\u2019s<\/u><\/a> body, which was found last month with a gunshot wound to the chest in the bushes in Gulistan-i-Jauhar.<\/p>\n<p>The court issued the order on an application filed by Ali\u2019s father, after a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dawn.com\/news\/2020848\">controversy emerged<\/a> between the Karachi police surgeon and investigators over alleged loopholes in the medico-legal report regarding the post-mortem examination.<\/p>\n<p>In its order, the court directed the police surgeon and the Sindh health secretary to constitute a medico-legal board for the exhumation of Ali\u2019s body \u201cunder intimation to this court at the earliest possible date and time\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The court order, issued after the ruling by Judicial Magistrate Hameedullah, stated that Ali\u2019s father, Mir Hussain Ali Khan, had filed an application seeking the exhumation of his son\u2019s body  in accordance with law.<\/p>\n<p>He also requested the formation of a medico-legal board, comprising senior forensic experts and pathologists, under the Karachi police surgeon \u201cto conduct a fresh and comprehensive\u201d medico-legal examination and postmortem, as well as X-ray, DNA, forensic and chemical examination of the body to ascertain the actual cause of death.<\/p>\n<p>The court observed that the prosecutor had not raised any objection to allowing the application, and permitted the exhumation of Ali\u2019s body.<\/p>\n<p>Moreover, the court office was directed to issue a letter to the Sindh health secretary and Karachi police surgeon for the formation of a medico-legal board for the purpose.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Ferozabad station house officer is also directed to make arrangements along with the investigating officer for such proceedings,\u201d the order, a copy of which is available with <em>Dawn<\/em> read.<\/p>\n<hr\/>\n<p>More to follow<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>KARACHI: A Karachi court on Thursday allowed the exhumation of Institute of Business Administration (IBA) graduate Mir Raza Ali\u2019s body, which was found last month with a gunshot wound to the chest in the bushes in Gulistan-i-Jauhar.
