Inter\u2019s interest in Curtis Jones remains active, but the Nerazzurri are unwilling to break the bank to land the Liverpool midfielder.<\/p>\n

The England international has long been one of the leading names, if not the very first, on Inter\u2019s list to bolster their midfield.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Jones is said to be particularly admired by head coach Cristian Chivu and keen on the idea of testing himself in Serie A.<\/p>\n

Standing in the way, however, are Liverpool, who are reluctant to lower their demands despite the player having just one year left on his contract.<\/p>\n

Inter and Liverpool stand-off over Jones valuation as other interest emerges<\/h2>\n

According to TEAMtalk, via CalcioMercato<\/a>, Inter have signalled to Liverpool that they are prepared to walk away from the deal, first explored back in January, if the Reds refuse to come down on their asking price.<\/p>\n

Sporting director Piero Ausilio addressed the saga at the Festival dello Sport in Parma a few weeks ago.<\/p>\n

\u201cA minimal gap? That\u2019s what you say, the millions aren\u2019t yours,\u201d Ausilio said. \u201cWe were interested in January and we still are now. We tried and we\u2019ll try again, if we meet on the valuation, good; if not, we\u2019ll do something else.\u201d<\/p>\n

The distance remains significant. Inter have nudged their offer up only as far as \u20ac25 million<\/a>, while Liverpool are holding firm at \u20ac40 million, a figure the Italian side have no intention of reaching.<\/p>\n

Complicating matters further is the reported late entry of Arsenal, who turned to Jones after seeing Sandro Tonali\u2019s price explode and a verbal \u00a355 million bid for Newcastle\u2019s Bruno Guimar\u00e3es rebuffed.<\/p>\n

Crucially, Jones himself is said to favour a move to San Siro, with intermediaries for both clubs remaining in contact over the past week in an effort to bridge the gap.<\/p>\n
