Legendary composer, arranger, and producer Hany Shenouda <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/ahramonline\/posts\/legendary-egyptian-composer-and-arranger-hany-shenouda-passed-away-on-20-july-at\/1482259647263156\/?utm_source=chatgpt.com\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">died<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> on Monday, 20 July, at the age of 83.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Born in 1943, Shenouda is best <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/egyptianstreets.com\/2021\/06\/07\/reliving-the-magic-of-the-past-remembering-70s-egyptian-pop-band-el-masryeen\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">remembered<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for founding the band Al-Masryeen in 1977. At a time when Arabic popular music was dominated by traditional orchestral arrangements, the group introduced Western pop, rock, and funk influences while maintaining an Egyptian identity.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Their fresh sound and socially conscious lyrics helped redefine Arabic pop music and opened the door for a new generation of performers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Throughout his prolific career, Shenouda <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/channel\/UCDCzTN15sD71HeHsLUvrAnA\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">composed<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> more than 900 songs for some of the Arab world\u2019s biggest stars, including Abdel Halim Hafez, Nagat, Ahmed Adaweya, and Mona Aziz. Beyond songwriting, he became one of Egypt\u2019s most sought-after arrangers and producers, recognized for his ability to modernize traditional melodies without sacrificing their emotional depth.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">His influence extended well beyond the recording studio.
