Spotify has launched Fresh Finds Forward, a program designed to help emerging independent artists turn early playlist attention into sustainable career growth. The initiative builds on Spotify’s Fresh Finds editorial playlists, which spotlight independent, unsigned and early-career musicians across genres and markets.
According to Spotify’s September 17, 2026 announcement, eligible artists added to a global Fresh Finds playlist from January 1, 2026 onward are invited to join through Spotify for Artists. The invitation-based program offers 12 months of access to resources, education, community opportunities and selected creative support. Participation and benefits depend on eligibility and program terms.
What Fresh Finds Forward offers
- Creative resources: eligible U.S.-based artists may access studio time at selected partner studios.
- Tools and learning: participants can receive early access to selected Spotify features and educational opportunities.
- Career connections: the program includes events and opportunities to connect with Spotify teams and Fresh Finds alumni.
- Visibility: a Fresh Finds badge can indicate editorial recognition on an artist’s Spotify profile.
Spotify says the Fresh Finds ecosystem has helped artists reach new listeners through editorial discovery. A playlist placement is not a guarantee of commercial success, but it can introduce developing artists to audiences who might not otherwise encounter their music.

How artists can be considered
Spotify says artists seeking editorial consideration should pitch an upcoming unreleased release through Spotify for Artists. Fresh Finds Forward is invitation-only; being featured on a playlist does not remove the need to meet the program’s eligibility requirements.
