Two people, including a six-year-old boy, were killed and 11 others injured after a truck drove onto the Stryker Soccer Complex field in Wichita, Kansas, during a youth soccer event, authorities said.
Police said the injured people were transported to hospitals and their injuries were not considered life-threatening. The driver, a 34-year-old woman, was taken into custody and was cooperating with investigators, CBS News reported. Two juveniles were also in the vehicle. Authorities had not publicly established whether the incident was intentional.
The city cancelled events at the complex. Investigators are working to establish how the vehicle entered the field and what led to the crash; conclusions about intent would be premature.
