“You Can See Everything,” a documentary about former Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes, opened with an estimated $15 million at the North American box office, according to weekend figures reported by The Guardian and other outlets.
Directed by Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim, the nearly three-hour film follows Holmes in the period before she began serving a prison sentence for defrauding investors. It opened in 855 theatres and drew strong attendance for a documentary.
The result is notable because documentaries rarely generate this level of opening-weekend revenue, particularly without a broad release. Box-office estimates can change as final theatre reports arrive, and opening-weekend results do not determine eventual profitability, but the debut gives the film a strong start.
